![]() You can hear the baby's heart beat and for the most part the reading will be almost accurate. Because we are using lower grade version of what our OB's use you have to consider the number will have some measure of error. One will be a constant rate which could fluctuate if the wand or baby moves.the others will be a an average heart rate reading over a period of seconds. Also because the baby is so small and there is a lot of room to move around the reading could be slightly off depending on what reading you selected. That rate will be slower then the baby's as it is your own heart rate. The heart rate reading are pretty accurate but also thio about the rate of your placenta. It doesn't really matter if you get one over the other. To me the wand really doesn't make a difference because at this phase in the pregnancy the baby is so small that it is easy to pick up the heart rate at one angle and if you barely move it at all you will lose it. My hubby ended up buying the c1 bc he is the type of guy to always go with the next best thing based on price.lol I told him the an was fine it he got the c1 anyway. Also, make sure you’re getting the baby’s heartbeat instead of your own, or the placenta (sounds like wind moving through the trees).I have the sonoline c1 and had the same question when I was looking to buy my doppler.the c1 has an extra feature to display average rhythmic heart rate as well as the original two displays.the oly other difference in the wand. Don’t move the probe too quickly, and take frequent pauses in place. I found that I couldn’t find a consistent heartbeat towards my midsection until at least week 13/14.ģ.) Use the Doppler on the highest volume, and listen closely. Tips I have, especially for “earlier” use, or those (like me) who have a retroverted uterus:ġ.) USE LOTS OF GEL! Don’t skimp, especially earlier on when you’re moving the probe a lot to find baby’s position.Ģ.) Start just inside the left hip bone, and rotate the probe slightly inwards. Success! Overall, I’m so glad I bought this Doppler! Luckily, I talked myself down from the ledge, took a break, and was able to calmly search for a heartbeat later that evening. At first, I thought it was a huge mistake - I basically couldn’t find a heartbeat anywhere, and SCOURED the internet for videos, tips, tricks.anything. I took the plunge and bought one around week 11.
